Removal of the stomach is frequently required to treat gastric cancer. A traditional open approach requires a long abdominal incison. Since 2010, Osler surgeons have been performing this procedure through small keyhole incisions. We feel that the magnified laparoscopic view enables surgeons to perform the operation safely, with much less recovery time for the patient.
