Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy

During minimally invasive esophagectomy, small surgical cuts are made in the upper belly, and chest to remove the esophagus. Our surgeons at Osler are the only surgeons in Canada to have published results in MIEs. As this is a complex and high risk procedure, very few centres have adopted this approach as their standard of care. Surgeons at Osler currenly mentor sugeons across Canada in this technique.
